all in one

I have so many stories to share so I’m going to jumble everything up in one entry. So that I can start fresh! Or else I would have to delete this blog and start a new one. Because I’m quite freaky like that. Haha.

So ok, where was I? We stopped at majlis bertandang right? Two days after our majlis bertandang, we went to Gold Coast for our honey, fly me to the moon. I’ve been there before and I enjoyed the place very much. It has everything I need – beach, fun, games, shopping! It was his first trip and I’m proud to say that I chose the perfect place for us! Halal food was easy to find and our hotel was awesome. We stayed at Mantra Legends – the room was big and came with a kitchenette. The breakfast was good and it was something we looked forward to everyday. Its sunny side up was made to perfection. We were amazed and I had second and third helpings of it. The hotel was strategically located – with a taxi stand right in front of the hotel. And it was only a 5-minute walk to the bus station – we took the bus to move about. It was, of course, way cheaper than taking a cab. We only took the cab to get to the airport. We love GC! We would definitely want to go back there again someday. Totally recommended.

After GC, we were busy visiting relatives and what-nots and every weekend was packed full of activities. We didn’t have time for ourselves, not even for a movie! Hehe. But we have settled down now, with the recent long weekend break and another one coming up soon. Lovely! We need it!

One of my best friends got married yesterday! Jaja, congratulations! She married her fiancé of 9 months and boyfriend of 7 years (?!!). Yeah I think it was that long ago that we first entered pre-law fast track and her husband was one of the very few guys in our small class of 20+. We have all witnessed how your relationship developed and blossomed from one phase to another. You two have been perfect for each other since day one! I think I can speak on behalf of all of us, your best friends, that we’re super happy and we pray for a lifetime of happiness for you. The akad nikah and her reception was held at Felda Villa. It was my first time there and I love it. I think the size of the place and the whole set-up is just right for the number of guests that you invited. It had a homey-cozy feel to it. Such a pretty place. I’m sure it would be very nice at night too. Jaja wanted a simple wedding with no bersanding or protocol. She wanted to be able to mingle with the guests, so it was quite laidback and casual. But there was a dais anyway, for picture-taking purposes. It was a sweet affair, I enjoyed the wedding very much. Of course we were busy helping out but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the wedding. As long as she’s happy, that’s enjoyment enough for us. Jaja, we wanted only the best for you and we didn’t mind going out of the way to get you what you want or to ensure that the wedding was as perfect as possible for you. That’s just how we are with each other. We’d do just about anything for each other. Coming up next is Atong’s reception this Saturday in Malacca.

Right after her wedding, I had to rush off to Farel’s 1st birthday partayyyy! Aww, he’s a big boy now. He acts like a big boy too. With babies around, you don’t need to plan or organize games because it would be tiring enough to look after them. We didn’t even realize that it was already 7 by the time the birthday boy finished opening up his presents. I think the mommy was a lot more excited about the presents than the boy. He received clothes, a babies’ drumset!, scribblers and other toys I don’t know how to describe. Bestnya!

Oh, still on weddings, my usual photographers of creative litebox got married a few weeks ago. Because we’re family friends, we attended the reception on both sides and helped out for the guy’s majlis bertandang. My husband and I became the impromptu ‘dayang’. It was on Valentine’s day and it was so so so hot, the sky was without a cloud. By the time things wrapped up in the evening, we both wanted to faint. But it was all worth it because two days after that, the two big families went out for an incredible Italian dinner experience at Marriott. The parents were so cute, they wanted to celebrate the newlyweds, including myself, so we had to wear a crown. If a pre-wedding celebration is called a hen nite, what do you call a post-wedding celebration? Hmm…

Talking about them, I hired them for a post-wedding shoot. I chose to have a post-wedding photography session rather than a pre-wedding. Reason? Personally, I don’t like the idea of a pre-wedding photography. In my very very humble opinion, it is not proper to be taking very romantic shots together when you’re not married yet…and for your family members to see. Hilang seri maybe? So I’ve decided to have a post-wedding photo shoot because then, I can do anything I want with my husband and nobody can say a thing. Hehe. We had our ‘photo shoot’ the day after my reception. There was no specific concept. We wanted to be ourselves, we wanted to do the things we usually do and wear clothes we usually wear. I wanted someone to capture those moments and that was what we did. I had so much fun on that day and I didn’t feel tired at all despite the fact that it was only a day after the reception. I guess that’s what you get when you hire your friend as your photographer. You’ve seen one picture already, do I need to share more? I haven’t uploaded it anywhere yet. ;p

Ok that's it for now. I know the entries on each event are super short but I have to start on a clean slate. I cannot write about past events anymore. I have to live it the now, the present. Hehe. So hopefully, I will continue writing in this blog. Pheww, the whole wedding series must have taken a toll on me. :)
