run lola run

I went for a jog yesterday at the big playground next to my house. I’m taking baby steps. You might just be a witness of the greatest transformation in history (cewah). AF 7 is not the only thing that can transform people, you know. Oh, for those who missed its first episode, specifically the welcoming/motivation speech by the principal, the tagline or motto or whatever you call it has got to do with transformation. It goes along the lines of ‘Saya bersedia untuk ditransformasikan!’ It made me cringe because no matter how badly you want this season to be better than the last season, it just won’t have the same impact as seasons 1, 2 and 3. The novelty is wearing off. In fact, not only have we seen less and less talent, we’ve also witnessed lack of personality and identity in the last few seasons. I used to be such a fan of AF, there’s nothing to be ashamed about that. AF 3 saw me going to the weekly concerts, well, weekly! Everyone was just crazy about AF at that time, it was definitely a phenomena. Everybody wanted to blog about it and the demand was high. Everybody wanted to know about the students. They were not all talented but they were interesting characters to watch. So I didn’t mind attending the concerts, sometimes with my family, sometimes with my boyfriend, sometimes with friends. And we had seats just a few rows from the stage so it was worth it. But as soon and as sudden as the fever started, it also died down almost immediately following the end of the season. I didn’t give a hoot about AF after that. So I was just channel-surfing the other night and found out that the 7th season has started. I don’t know, I’m already skeptical as it is about the students. Maybe it will be different this time around, maybe this season can revive the good old days of AF. But then again, maybe not. We’ll see.

So back to the jogging thing. Yes, I have a huge field next to my place and yet the last time I went there was when I was in school. Some vivid memories I have of that field would be, playing badminton with my neighbour at the badminton court, roller-blading in my green ugly roller blades masa season roller-blades, having breakfast (nasi lemak USJ 2, and this was before nasi lemak Abang Kelantan came into my life) underneath the wooden hut…ahh. It was quite cool at one point to hang out at the field. But after that, I just didn’t have the time or reason to go there anymore. And no, I have never gone on a date at the field ah, please. There’s no point, my parents would find out anyway as we can see almost the whole field clearly from the tv room. Hehe. Now I might just want to utilize one of the public amenities provided for us residents. Which brings me to another issue, I need to update my playlist! I swear my mp3 stores the oldest, most outdated songs ever. And the mere mention of ‘mp3’ already shows how ancient I am. Yes, I don’t have iPod or whatever it is that you tech-savvy people have. My younger brother has an iPod and an iPhone. I’m not the slightest bit jealous. I just don’t care about things like that. So I have a really basic mp3, given to me by my boyfriend (so cute!!), intact with all the songs he stored when he gave it to me. Very nice, considering the fact that the songs WERE hits. Not exactly current chart toppers. My boyfriend, if you’re reading this please put in more songs for me so that I have the motivation and enough coolness to run. Thank you.

Kembali ke Sri Pentas.
