Only three working days for me this week! Yeayyy. Yesterday was a public holiday and I'm on leave this Friday. :)) Because guess what, I'm going back to PE to the NANG! It's a compulsory visit. Ever since we've stopped going back to Penang for Raya, we've tried to make it a point to go back during Ramadhan. Going back to Penang, for whatever reason, is fine with me. Of course I miss celebrating Raya there but there's no point of going back because all my relatives will come to KL anyway. And this year, they'll celebrate it at our house. Double the fun and joy! The sweeter part of going back this time around is that most probably Mr.Fiance will be joining us there! Insya Allah. If that happens, oh boy, I'm going to have such a field day bringing him around and showing him all the places that I used to go as a kid. And of course, I will introduce him to all my favourite restaurants/stalls/whatnots. I doubt we'd have that much time to taste it all since it's the fasting month and we can only eat after buka puasa and how much nasi kandar can one take per night anyway? (quite a lot for me!;p) Just thinking about it makes me weak. Hehe.
We haven't put much thought on kuih raya this year. Oh god, how could we totally miss out on such an important part of raya?? My ultimate favourite is rolled pineapple tarts. It must be rolled. I won't take it any other way. Somehow it's just not the same if you can see the pineapple jam kan? Which reminds me...I don't think we've ordered or bought any of those this year! Must buy! Another favourite of mine is batang buruk. My officemate sells the best batang buruk (and the only batang buruk that I've ever tasted). Yes I've only started 'liking' this kuih ever since I tried hers. Before this, I wasn't interested at all. Hmmm. Maybe next time we'll talk about my favourite raya dish pulak ok. Let's get back to work (and lots of it). :)
