lumber tlee

As of today, I’ve been a wife for three whole months. And everyday, it gets better. I would totally be lying and misleading all of you if I say that we haven’t had a fight since we got married because oh boy, we even fought during our honeymoon. Haha it was just one of those things. I wanted to cross the road at the zebra crossing and he wanted to just brave the oncoming traffic and run across like he’s in Dhaka. I have this thing about crossing roads. I can be very nervous. So I was mad and he was mad, because he said that I was trying too hard to be ‘Australian’, following the rules by the book and so on. But it lasted for only about 10 minutes and then we were busy munching the most delicious (halal) roasted chicken ever. My point is that we’ve been together for more than five years and we’re definitely not going to stop fighting just because we got married. Things are going to be the same but things are going to get better. Of course, when you spend every available minute of your time with your other half, you love more, you argue more. Argument is a necessary evil in a marriage. Having said that, all is well and dandy for us after three months. :)

Isn’t it amazing how say, 8-9 years ago you didn’t have a clue when you’d get married or who you’d end up marrying? And now the day has come and this is the man you’re going to marry. It’s unbelievable how fate works. I have never thought that I’d meet and fall in love with someone in Uni. I thought that I would end up with someone from the same circle of people that I’ve known throughout my school years. No one in particular, but just one of those people. Or at least a friend of a friend or something like that. It felt quite impossible to meet the right person in Uni or at least I thought that there wouldn’t be anyone my type. Talking about types, HAHA I don’t actually even have a ‘type’ that I go for. During school years, memang caca marba. I still remember my best friend and her two Chinese boyfriends lah, one of whom I think is so dangerous macam he just got out of the movie Tokyo Drift je. Me and my set of weirdos. Haha I don’t mean it in a bad way, I mean they were all so different from one another that I don’t think I had a ‘type’. One was very Shah Rukh Khan-ish (haha I feel like rolling on the floor laughing just thinking about this one) because his family speaks Hindi at home and I called him once and got scolded, one was a Pro-yo master (you know there was this point when yoyo was so in?) who accompanied me while I waited for my school bus, one was a super shy guy that we would pass by each other in school and not utter a word and yet we were supposed to be an ‘item’? (and the one that I refused to go out with so we never really went out together haha apa ni? Confusing), one took ages just to tell me that he liked me that by the time (I think) he got the guts to do so I have already moved on, one was a true and true opportunist… ah, so many more stories and types lah. The only one who was a little towards the normal type if I were to look at where he’s at in his life right now, I met when I was 13 and we knew nothing about relationships then.

But the type that I’ve decided to spend eternity with is definitely the best type of all. I guess all those years I wasn’t looking for someone his type, I was looking for him. So I don’t have a type after all. :)
