My husband is not the biggest supporter of this blog. On the rare occasions that he reads this space, he is almost always full of criticisms. He summed up my blog as ‘boring’ and ‘full of words’. I’m not hurt with the former accusation because I know (and I bet and I’m sure and it better be true!) that he thinks the WORLD of me in person ;p, but I’m perplexed with the latter. I get what he meant – this blog lack pictures.
Honestly, I am the laziestttt when it comes to peppering my entries with pictures. I just don’t have the drive and excitement to upload ‘em all unlike my excitement to write. I guess I don’t qualify to be called a true ‘blogger’ because I blog too much for my own satisfaction. I am selfish as I have never bothered to care about what people might actually want to see and read and expect from this space. But to be fair to myself and as an argument of defence, I must say that the whole purpose and intent I started having a blog is to write. And that’s really what I have been doing. I stayed true to myself. I didn’t and still don’t have many readers. I am content with having just you, you, you and you reading my ramblings. I don’t have the intention to make a profit out of it and I most certainly am not thirsty for popularity. In my opinion, if I were to upload so many pictures, I might as well have a fotopages account or something. And I wouldn’t be a D-grade writer anymore, I’d just be an ‘uploader’.
Little did I know that in the eyes of my mega-loved one, all words and no pictures make Jane a dull girl. Blog-wise, my dear, blog-wise. So, I have decided. In the name of love and solidarity and ‘til do us part, I will heed my husband’s advice and rebrand myself. Haha. I will try my hardest to firstly stop being lazy, secondly take more pictures, take pictures of every little thing like the picture of my nails or my pen or my keychain, take outfit pictures (!!! ok this ain’t gonna be easy), thirdly transfer all the pictures to my laptop/pc, lastly and most importantly make an effort to ‘share’ it with everyone here. So next time, you might read an entry on traffic congestion and you get a picture of my toe. Hope you’re happy. That way, I hope that I will never have to beg him to read my blog again just because I know that if he doesn’t read it I will lose a reader (albeit a forced and bribed one). Because if he doesn’t read this, and my friends (and I mean real-life friends) don’t read this too, I’d rather just bury this empty space and find a new hobby.
ps; I know (and would like to believe) that you read my blog secretly kan? You find it amusing kan? You ada gelak-gelak kan? And the only reason you want more pictures is because you can’t get enough of me and miss me when we’re apart kan kan kan??? Just admit it lah. :)
