jom!

Tomorrow I’ll be at WWN’s HQ, situated at Jalan Othman, directly opposite UiTM. We’re having some sort of a carnival, with a flea market-feel to it. Of course most of the products will be our own but there will also be stalls selling food and gasp, clothes and accessories! I’ve decided to take up a booth and I’ll be selling my pre-loved items. And when I say pre-loved, I mean clothes in super good condition, like I’ve worn it only once or twice kinda thing. NOT lunyai and dirty and if you give it to me free I won’t even take it kinda second-hand. This is based on my own experience. I went to this celebrity charity bazaar for the Palestinians held a few months back. So some of the actresses and singers tu ada la jual their clothes, bags, accessories and books. And I was happily browsing around from one stall to another, until I came to this one stall, manned by one “pelakon muda popular berbakat besar berwajah kacukan agak kontroversi” (entertainment journalist mode). Honestly, I wanted to buy something from her. And I wasn’t in one of my picky and choosy moods. I was all ready to buy something from an actress (and give it to my boyfriend later as a gift haha kidding). But the things on her table were miserable! There were some pre-loved clothes on the rack but…not interesting AT ALL and lusuh. So I moved on to the bags on the table. There was one bag that caught my eye. It was a Chanel-inspired bag (a nicer way of saying that it’s an imitation hehe). But upon closer inspection, the bag was just as bad as the clothes – worn out with too many stains! Unacceptable. I was holding the bag when she interrupted my thoughts and greeted me. She even looked at me sheepishly when I was trying the clasp on the bag and said that she’s sorry it’s so buruk. Oh, she knew. I thought she was oblivious with the condition of the things she put on sale. My point is this. If you want to sell pre-loved goodies, you cannot just sell anything and everything that you don’t want anymore. You have to sell things that have been worn but still in good condition. What’s the point of selling things yang betul-betul nampak teruk? Might as well you just give it to charity kan? No need to take money for it. Sell decent pre-loved things lah. And of course I didn’t buy the bag. I wasn’t impressed. What did I buy at the bazaar? Hmm, nothing except Chef Wan’s brownies. Itu berbaloi. :)

So those who attend the carnival can expect real good bargains like original handbags for a fraction of the original price. Clothes will be on sale too. Usually mothers will buy my clothes for their kids. LOL! I participated once a couple of years back and I had a blast. Hopefully tomorrow’s turnout will be good.
