family suite weekend

One of us is getting married in June. It’s our tradition that we must have the ‘last sleep over’ a few days before the big day. This time around, we decided to just chill at Royale Bintang. Instead of behaving like singles, we decided to bring the babies with us! It made a whole lot of difference! We understand that the moms wouldn’t feel good leaving their babies behind knowing how attached they are to their kids. So, we thought, what the hell, just bring ‘em with us! And boy, was it hard work or what! Now I understand that your child’s needs definitely come first. Before we decide what to do or where to eat, the primary question would be, would the babies feel comfortable? And instead of taking our own sweet time gossiping away while we eat, we ate as quickly as possible with minimum conversation. Only after the babies have gone to sleep at night did we manage to ‘party’ (the word party is subjective). Haha. All in all, it was a very good weekend. We had some quality time together, without having to neglect the kids, so there’s no such thing as being an irresponsible mother. We managed to do some shopping (I am so satisfied with my purchases). And of course, the traditional must-have pillow talk. Sometimes, I still can’t believe we’ve come this far. From naive, annoying little girls who bicker with each other about almost everything. From innocent little girls who went for mengaji at our neighbour’s house just for the sake of the yummy toothpaste in the bathroom and occasional sweet treats after mengaji. From children to teenagers to young adults. I remember when our hearts got broken. And how our hearts were mended. I remember their weddings. And then came the babies. The cycle will continue. Our love remains the same. I can’t wait for her wedding in June. It’s going to be beautiful. :) (And I'll be one of the 'dulang girls/usherette' again...Wait 'til it's my turn, I'm so going to pull a '27 Dresses' on you guys)
